Influencer marketing in India has matured well past the "celebrity post" era. Brands are increasingly finding that micro and mid-tier creators — with smaller but highly engaged, niche audiences — deliver stronger cost-per-engagement and, more importantly, stronger trust with their followers.
The reason is simple: audiences can tell the difference between a creator who genuinely uses a product and one reading a script. Campaigns that give creators creative latitude within clear brand guardrails consistently outperform tightly scripted ones.
A good influencer brief looks less like an advertising script and more like a creative collaboration document: brand context, key messages that must land, what to avoid, and examples of tone — then trust the creator to translate that into content that fits their own voice.
Measurement has also matured. Beyond reach and likes, brands are now tracking saves, shares, and downstream site traffic as the metrics that actually correlate with sales impact.
